Introducing Our New Graduate Students

📣 We’re excited to welcome two new graduate students to the department this year! 🎉

Nicholas Canham (BA, Classical Humanities, UW-Madison CANES ’22) has continued his studies in Ancient Greek and Latin through UW-Madison’s Continuing Education program. His research interests include Greek and Roman poetry, Classical mythology, and ancient religious practice. Outside of academics, Nicholas enjoys reading fiction, playing video games, and going to the cinema.

Caelan LaChance (BA with Honors, Classical Studies, Boston College ’25) studies material and textual exchange between the Greco-Roman worlds, the Near East, and the wider Mediterranean, with special interest in the lives of marginalized groups in antiquity. Beyond her studies, Caelan enjoys sci-fi/fantasy, making art and music, and spirited (though imperfect) home projects.

Please join us in congratulating Nick and Caelan on joining the program. We can’t wait to see the great work they’ll do!
