Each year since 1950 the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) has awarded ovationes (honorary citations written in Latin and delivered at the CAMWS Annual Meeting) to members for their service to CAMWS and the Classics profession. The Latin texts are subsequently published in The Classical Journal. CANES Professor Laura McClure was among the recipients of this distinguished recognition in 2024.
