Preston Atwood Earns Awards

PhD student Preston Atwood has earned $600 for travel expenses to the 2018 Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  The award is courtesy of the Student Research Graduate Competition made possible through the UW’s Graduate School, Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Funding.  He will be presenting his paper “Aristophanes’ Lampito in Sociolinguistic Perspective”

Atwood also earned the Society of Biblical Literature’s Midwest Regional Graduate Student Paper Award for his work titled, “Inheriting the Nations’ Wealth as (Accidental) Leitmotif in the Old Greek of Isaiah.”
