Abbey Linnell graduated from the honors college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2022. While at UNCG, she collaborated on research using a grant from the Mellon Foundation’s: “Transforming the Humanities” initiative. For her project she focused on material culture and numismatics, specifically coins minted doing the reign of Septimius Severus (193-211 CE). Her senior honors thesis also focused on Roman numismatics titled: Roman Health Goddesses on Coins During the Antonine Period. While her thesis reflected her interests in coinage and material culture, she is also interested in women, minoritized populations, and ancient medicine. Abbey spent the academic year 2022-2023 working on post-baccalaureate work at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
