Katherine Melberg

Katherine Melberg earned her PhD in Classical, Ancient Mediterranean, and Near Eastern Studies and Archaeology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2025, after completing her MA in the same program. She is now a Lecturer at Santa Clara University.

Her research examines the relationship between author and audience in the works of Seneca the Younger, with her dissertation analyzing how Seneca uses genre to engage readers across differences in class, education, and interpretive capacity. She also works on disability representation in ancient literature and its reception in modern scholarship.
