Samson Olanrewaju (Ph.D. Hebrew Bible, 2025) has published his doctoral dissertation as a monograph with Mohr Siebeck.
Olanrewaju defended his dissertation in spring 2025. His book, The Compositional History of the Book of Kings: An Analysis of the Evaluative Frameworks in 1 Kings 14–2 Kings 25, is now published as volume 177 in Mohr Siebeck’s Forschungen zum Alten Testament 2. Reihe (FAT 2).
In the monograph, Olanrewaju examines the composition and development of the biblical book of Kings through its formal evaluations of Israelite and Judean kings. Drawing on source- and redaction-critical approaches, he traces multiple stages in the formation of the text, from an early eighth-century edition through later revisions and expansions.
Published in 2026, the 286-page volume is available in print and as an eBook from Mohr Siebeck.
