Congratulations to Samson Olanrewaju, who successfully defended his dissertation on Friday, April 11. The dissertation, entitled “The Compositional History of the Book of Kings: An Analysis of the Evaluative Frameworks in 1 Kings 14–2 Kings 25*” proposes a new schema of the development of Kings. The dissertation was directed by Jeremy Hutton; the readers were Chontel Syfox, Jeffrey Beneker (both UW–Madison), and Peter Dubovsky (Pontifical Biblical Institute, Rome).
