Mary McHugh will give an interactive lecture entitled “Modern Palmeritan Markets and Street Food in the Ancient Roman World.” Sparked by a description from the Roman poet Martial, her talk will explore poetry, material culture, and comparative modern evidence to discover the street food culture of ancient Rome from a sociohistorical perspective.
