Alex Dressler Publishes Translation

Alex Dressler's translation of "The Trojan Women," by Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 BCE-65 CE), has been published in The Complete Tragedies, Volume 1.  Each translation is prefaced with an introduction by the translator, and the set is comprised of two volumes containing Seneca's dramatic works.

Published by University of Chicago Press, the translations are described as maintaining, "[h]igh standards of accuracy, clarity, and style...which render Seneca into verse with as close a correspondence, line for line, to the original as possible, and with special attention paid to meter and overall flow."
